Healthy organizations begin
with healthy communication.
Training & consulting for organizations committed to safer, stronger, more effective systems.
I help organizations enhance communication, improve team culture, and respond more effectively to conflict, trauma, and gender-based violence & abuse.
I translate research into tools people can actually use — whether training staff, advising leadership, or consulting on complex legal cases.
Evidence-based. Trauma-informed. Practical and clear.

Areas of Expertise:

*I only voluntarily work cases that are supporting survivors. Sometimes that means bringing me in to help assess primary aggressor status. Sometimes that means I work with defense teams because the abused party has caught some wrongful charges or was acting in self-defense. Sometimes that means I work with prosecutors when the victim wants to engage with the legal system.

How I Work
Pricing
I typically work on sliding scale for organizations. This allows me to also work with non-profits and folks on tighter budgets. Contact me for details.
Tailored
I partner with organizations to meet their specific needs, design and adapt the work accordingly, and innovate as contexts, goals, and constraints evolve.
Clarity, Transparency, & Informed Consent
I prioritize reducing uncertainty by clearly communicating expectations and processes. My goal is to create collaborative partnerships that are both safe and appropriately challenging.
Research-Grounded & Evidence-Based
My work draws from decades of research on communication, relationships, and social systems while remaining deeply attentive to lived experience. I draw from social science — not trends or quick fixes — and translate research into practical, humane strategies that work in complex, high-stakes contexts. Evidence guides the work; people shape how it’s applied.
Trauma-Informed
For me, being trauma-informed is not just a credential — it’s a practice. I work with care, consent, and attentiveness to power, adapting processes to minimize harm and support agency. My approach reflects core trauma-informed principles (safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural humility) without reducing them to a checklist. I aim to embody these values in how I work, not just in what I say.
What People are Saying
This work required courage and a willingness to imagine new possibilities. In a relatively short time, our collaboration led to meaningful, lasting change. Through Jenny’s strong leadership and tenacity, this work strengthened partnerships across agencies and improved outcomes for the broader community. The collaboration made a real difference for staff, the people we serve, and the organizations involved. A giant step forward to serving a shared population needing services in a true wrap-around hug of warmth. This work matters—and its impact will continue. - Consulting & Training Collaborator
Jenny is phenomenal. This course completely altered the way that I view conflict and my own conflict management. The strategies and insights are practical and immediately applicable.

I sought out Dr. Guthrie to assist in our Equal Employment Opportunity trainings, and she delivered! Her style, content and knowledge significantly added to our trainings! Her style is engaging and forces participants to look inward and professionally. Her research and findings are made real by her case studies; yet still while maintaining privacy, she gives a personality to her research. More than numbers and data, Dr. Guthrie’s rare talent to make research relatable will only enhance training sessions, especially with topics that may be difficult. - Training Collaborator
